Experience the refined expression of Rioja with Montecillo White Wine, a distinctive barrel-fermented white that reflects over 150 years of winemaking expertise from Bodegas Montecillo. Crafted from a harmonious blend of Viura (34%), Sauvignon Blanc (36%) and Tempranillo Blanco (30%), each grape variety is vinified separately to preserve its unique character before being expertly brought together.
Following gentle pressing, the wine undergoes partial fermentation in concrete tanks before completing fermentation in new and semi-new French Allier oak barrels. It is then aged on its fine lees for six months with regular bâtonnage, creating a wine of remarkable texture, richness and balance while maintaining its natural freshness and vibrant acidity.
On the nose, delicate aromas of white flowers, stone fruits, nectarine and citrus are complemented by elegant hints of vanilla, toasted oak and subtle balsamic notes. The palate is creamy yet lively, revealing layers of ripe white peach, pear, mineral nuances and gentle oak spice, supported by refreshing acidity and a long, sophisticated finish.
