Corona means “crown” in spanish but due to the popularity of the name amongst other brands  this beer is often known as coronita “little crown” in spain. The distinctive crown logo from which corona takes its name is based on the crown that adorns the cathedral of the lady of Guadalupe in the town of Puerto Vallarta.

3. The Corona logo is made up of a crown and animals, the crown sits on top of the mexican sun while the griffins - part lion and part eagles, are meant to protect the beer.

Corona Sunrise Recipe

Ingredients:

1. 1 Bottle Corona Extra
2. 1 shot of Tequila
3. Orange juice
4. Grenadine Lime wedge for garnish 

Directions:

1. Drink or pour out a bottle of Corona down to the top of the label
2. Add a shot of tequila 
3. Add orange juice halfway up the neck
4. Add a splash of grenadine by squeezing your lime into the bottle
5. Plug bottle with your finger and flip once to mix
