The Cointreau Distillery was founded in 1849 by Adolphe Cointreau in France. The first bottles of Cointreau Orange Liqueur were sold in 1875, and were made with both bitter and sweet orange peels which were macerated in neutral alcohol & distilled. It is full bodied and sweet on the palate.
Cointreau Orange Liqueur can usually be spotted at bars as it's a quintessential ingredient in many cocktails. The SideCar, White Lady and Margarita are some of the more popular cocktails that use Cointreau Orange Liqueur.
