    Ale - A general category of beer that is also the oldest style. Ale is accessible and easy for home brewers as it is done with a warm-temperature fermentation for a relatively short period of time.

    Lager - Lager is a newer style of beer where it fermates for a longer period of time at a low temperature compared to Ale.

    Porter - Porter is a type of Ale where it is dark black in colour, roasted malt aroma and notes with a fruity/dry flavour.

    Stout - Stout is similar to Porter as it is a dark and roasted ale. Unlike Porter, Stout taste less sweet and often have a bitter coffee taste, which comes from the unmalted roasted barley that is added to the wort.

    Blonde Ale - Blonde Ale is a summer favourite, with the light malt sweetness and bits of hops that adds to the aroma of it. Blonde Ale tends to be crisp and dry, with hints of bitterness.

    Brown Ale - The flavour and scent of the Brown Ale is greatly affected by the different malts as the malts from different parts of the word is being used.

    Pale Ale - Pale Ale is a popular type of beer that has malty flavour and moderate strength. They are of full flavour and approachable as it is not too heavy. There are many variations of Pale Ale which includes malty English Ale, balanced American brews, Belgian session ales, and hoppy IPAs (Indian Pale Ales).

    Pilsner - Pilsner are one of the hoppiest beer where they generally have a dry and slight bitter taste. With the light golden clear appearance and crisp finish, it makes Pilsner a popular summer drink.

    Sour Ale - Sour Ale are crafted from wild yeasts. There will be lambics that will be found in Sour Ale which are Belgian sour beer mixed with fruits, goses, a German sour beer that is made with coriander and sea salt, and Flanders, a Belgian sour beer that is fermented in wood tanks.

For instance, English hops will provide earthy and floral nose while a New Zealand or Australia hop will smell like passionfruit and citrus.     Most beer should be stored at 10-13 degree celsius which is known as “cellar temperature”. For draught beer, it is not pasteurised and it must be stored and served below 4 degree celsius. For light beer, it will freeze at -1 degree celsius.
