Amrut’s Peated Cask Strength Malt Whisky is not one for the weak. With heavy emphasis on its peated Scottish malted barley dried on Port Ellen, yet having been distilled in India, its intense strength allows for the bottle’s profile to develop such distinct flavours over time, and create such a clean and translucent colour that shines in its bottle, making it extraordinarily mature for its youth.

History

Since 1948, Amrut has been one of the first single malts to be proudly made in India. The word “Amrut” comes from the Sanskrit word Amrita, which can be roughly translated to being “the nectar of the gods” or “Elixir of Life”. Constantly raising the bar for whiskies being made in India, Amrut managed to create a paradigm shift in cultural thinking for indian whiskies, from one of blended cheap origins to that of an expensive and exquisite taste, thus placing Indian-made and bottled whiskies on the map for connoisseurs everywhere.
